Session Description

A leading school official and Title IV compliance expert will team up with two experienced regulatory attorneys for an interactive presentation about recent and ongoing key regulatory developments impacting federal student aid participation. The session will discuss the Trump Administration’s reforms, initiatives, and executive orders as well as the prospect for future rulemaking. The panel will discuss how the shifting federal regulatory landscape is creating opportunities as well as potential pitfalls for institutions and will focus specifically on financial value transparency and gainful employment, student loan forgiveness and institutional liability, distance education, eligibility and certification, financial responsibility, and administrative capability. The session will elicit and respond to audience participation to foster an engaging discussion of the ongoing changes that are underway at the U.S. Department of Education, throughout the new Administration, and in Congress.
