Mark is the Chief Legal Officer for Lindenwood Education System, the non-profit parent entity of Lindenwood University, Dorsey College, and Ancora Education, that collectively serve over 15,000 students in a wide variety of program levels and program offerings, and in multiple geographic locations nationwide and online. Since joining in 2020, he has been responsible for managing the corporate restructuring into a multi-corporate entity system structure, completed two successful institutional acquisitions, oversaw tax-exempt and taxable financing, and many other transactional items. In private practice, he was a member of the higher education practice group for a large law firm and represented numerous colleges and universities in state and federal courts and in administrative agency proceedings, including with the U.S. Department of Education. Mark’s work also includes advising on corporate board governance and oversight matters and supporting functional areas of operations across all school entities, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Previously, he also served as general counsel for another private, nonprofit institution of higher education, as well as in-house counsel in for-profit higher education.
