Jonathan Tarnow is a partner at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, where he is a member of the firm's Education Practice and its Government and Regulatory Affairs Group. For over 25 years, Jonathan has represented educational institutions, education technology companies, third-party vendors of educational support services, private investors and entrepreneurs, financial institutions and others on matters involving the U.S. Department of Education, institutional and programmatic accreditation, state authorization, veterans education benefits, and other topics. He advises clients on significant transactional matters including changes of ownership or control, credit agreements and financial responsibility issues, Federal Student Aid program reviews and investigations, Office of Inspector General matters, Office for Civil Rights investigations, and the resolution of compliance findings including through administrative appeals and other agency proceedings. Jonathan was a negotiator for proprietary institutions on the Financial Responsibility Subcommittee of the Department's 2017-18 Negotiated Rulemaking process. In addition to his longtime CECU involvement, Jonathan is an active member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
